WIRE AFRICA is an international organization committed to breaking Africa's millennia-long curse of poverty by providing solutions to foster economic development. We are creating a comprehensive business plan for Africa, based on the latest in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) as infrastructure. The plan naturally addresses the ways in which poverty can be ended at a profit for all, but does not stop there. It addresses the ways in which technology is necessary to support the full range of human rights necessary for [[sustainable economic development]].

We start from all recognized human rights, including the right to education, and add more that should be recognized. These include a right to health care, to information, to support of languages and cultures in free software, to control of the intellectual property of each group's cultural heritage, and most of all a right to speak in the national and global conversations about our shared future.
